Students from Concrete, Cascade, North Kitsap and Kingston design and construct Trusses for the Structural Engineering competition.

December 15th marked a historical day for North Kitsap High School. For most students it was like any other Saturday, sleeping in from a long week of school work. Final results will be announced at the State Show reception, held on May 16 at the Olympia OSPI office from 2-4 p.m. The show will run from April 18 to May 28. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Living Color

CHECKERS SHOW - "LIVING COLOR" Last February, after months of careful preparation and planning, the club was ready to hang this year’s local photography show, entitled “Living Color”. This concept resonated differently with every member, which was apparent in the variety of photographic styles used. Participating students were: Emily Hnatishin, Hannah McCabe, Zach Moore, Katie Redfield, Crista Dougherty, Jamie McClure, Heather Logan, Hannah Pealstrom, McKenzie McDermott, and Kaitlyn Hammond. The show included photographs from a variety of locations students had visited. Hawaii, Seattle, and Poulsbo itself were just a few of the places students found their own beauty to capture. Owner Jim Wise is very supportive of the club and other local artists. Every month, a new artist’s work is displayed on the crimson walls, making Checker’s an ever-changing entity of art. A big thanks to those who visited the show, to Jim Wise, and to all of the artists for their fine work.
